there's a new version of iText (2.1.5) on the streets. you can pick up the jars from here. there's also a long long set of release notes here.

keep in mind if you want to use iText and keep cf's CFDocument bits you either want to repackage iText w/a a different package/class name or use mark's nifty javaLoader.

if you do any work with iText, you need this book. bruno has done an excellent job explaining iText in all it's glory. it's got great details without the fluff and filler. loads of practical examples--while the code examples are mainly java, it's so well explained you can use it as a resource porting to coldfusion.

and the cover's kind of cool too ;-)

really, buy this book.

the super cool java lib iText has just been updated to version 1.1 (which sort of synchs to the experimental version of 1.4.2, which btw is now termed the "early access" version).

what's iText? why it's the best PDF burning lib around. it's free, works a treat and is easily used from within cf (via createObject), not to mention the pretty good support bruno lowagie and paulo soares provide.
